Ah yea. That happens to me too with the ridiculous word counts and then the “THIS HAPPENS”. Despite the setback you have maybe it’ll help you with your assignment so won’t get burned out on them.
So glad I’m not alone there, also fingers crossed! Can’t wait to nut out these fics I’ve got planned!

Hahaha, oh god. I didn’t even know how much I wrote until I check word. Worst thing is that its not even finished. I have at least 1/2 to a 1/3 to go! Mostly planned out but yes, the target is July.

There’s nothing wrong with taking a break to write. Hope everything is going well for you. It’ll be interesting to see how your fic turns out (even if there’s accidental DickJay subtext in it).
This is true. The only problem is I’m straight out awful with actually stopping. When I write it sort of consumes me (you should see my WIP folder, its ridiculous the word count for some of them) and I could spend days on a single fic before my brain switches over.
Seriously the only way I get assignments done is if I don’t let myself write whilst doing the assignment. Otherwise I get distracted by “what if this happened…” or “THEN THIS happens and he says this” and next thing I know I’ve opened up my story folder for a short note then ~five hours later~…
Still that was nice of you to say! I hope you have it easier in writer-land!

… I broke.
Now I have 9,000 words worth of Outlaws Fic (with significant side roles by Dick, Tim and Bruce) sitting on Word. And er… I am kinda twisting the plot to pit outlaws against bats. And um. I’ve written too much DickJay in the past. It’s… creeping through.
Self control. I think I need to learn this.
I’ll try to finish this one before posting. So it might appear on your dash/AO3 in maybe Early July?
